Why not join us for breakfast before heading out for a walk, or drop into The Bandstand for lunch, dinner, refreshments or cake to refuel!
Sandown to Ryde Coastal Path (or vice verca)
BEAUTIFUL COASTAL VIEWS | MOSTLY FLAT | GOOD PATHS AND SIGNAGE

Following the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, this walk is described as a great scenic long-distance trail. It follows public footpaths and minor lanes, with sections along roads.
The walk can either begin at Sandown Beach, going past The Bandstand at the beginning of the journey; rises over the cliffs of Culver Down, leading you into Bembridge Harbour before returning to the promenades to Ryde (or vice versa and finish your walk at The Bandstand).
Sandown & Northwood Copse Circular
MODERATELY CHALLENGING
Distance: 10.5km / Distance: 6.5 miles | Time: 2h 30m
Starts in Sandown, then passes along the town streets and beach, on the way out to the countryside and woodlands, winding past Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve, and through Northwood Copse. The trail then returns through the farmlands and Los Altos Park and back to the start. This walk goes right past The Bandstand at the beginning of the trek, so walkers can either begin at The Bandstand or treat themselves after their walk.
Nunwell Trail: Ryde to Sandown (or vice versa)
A HIKERS WALK
Distance: 13km / Distance: 8 miles | Time: 3h
The walk can begin at St John’s Station, Ryde. This walk is called the Nunwell Trail, usually ending at Sandown Railway Station. Though can be altered to finish at The Bandstand due to it being a short 20 minute walk from the station passing along the beach.
Alternatively it can begin at Sandown and end in Ryde then return to Sandown by way of a 15 minute train journey.
Niton to Sandown (or vice versa)
EASY HIKE
Distance: 14.5km / Distance: 9 miles | Time: 4h
The walk starts from the cliffs of Niton and follows the Isle of Wight costal path to Sandown, taking you past St Lawrence Village, Ventnor Botanic Gardens and the Landslip. From Sandown Pier its a short 12 minute walk to The Bandstand.
Sandown to Lake Slipway (or vice versa)

Distance: 5km / Distance: 3 miles | Time: 1h 30m
The walk begins at Beachfield Road, Sandown, takes you to Lake slipway before looping back towards Sandown. From it’s starting location Beachfield Road, its a short 15 minute walk to The Bandstand.
